This circular forms part of the policy framework under the Isle of Man Planning Scheme (Development Plan) Order 1982 restricting residential development to zoned areas. ObjectionWhilst the conversion of suitable existing structures in the countryside into holiday accommodation is generally encouraged; the construction of entirely new units is not. These are ipso-facto new dwellings in the countryside to which the Society is dedicatedly OPPOSED. We therefor STRONGLY OBJECT to this application; Terribly badly sited, tandem development with access through a garage area. Suitable land is not that short in Ramsey. We STRONGLY OBJECT to poor quality development.

No ObjectionNo adverse traffic impacts.

No ObjectionNO OBJECTION IN PRINCIPLE; It is hoped that more detailed information will be supplied with the proposal should permission be granted at this stage. The needs and benefits for more holiday accommodation on the island should be given consideration but this must be balanced against the type of the construction proposed.
Registration and Grading Commission
No CommentIt is considered that there may be other options ie) through further conversion of redundant farm buildings, to expand the existing tourist business at Cronk Aashen which would be in sympathy with current planning policy.
Environmental Protection
No CommentIf the well does exist and is used for potable supply a separation distance of 100m from any foul soakaway is recommended.
