General Policy 6
General Policy 6 permits external advertisements in towns and villages if they are high standard design relating well to the site (a), in keeping with the area (b), and not causing highway safety hazards (c). The officer tested the signage against each part: high standard white plastic with black lettering relates to the football club; in keeping with the 'Football Ground' area; and confirmed safe by Highways Division as it does not obstruct visibility splays.
Time limit
The development hereby permitted shall be commenced before the expiration of four years from the date of this notice.
Maintenance of advertisements
Any advertisements displayed, and any site used for the display of advertisements, shall be maintained in a clean and tidy condition to the reasonable satisfaction of the Department.
Structural safety
Any structure or hoarding erected or used principally for the purpose of displaying advertisements shall be maintained in a safe condition.
Removal of advertisements
Where an advertisement is required under these Regulations to be removed, the removal shall be carried out to the reasonable satisfaction of the Department.
Site owner permission
No advertisement is to be displayed without permission of the owner of the site or any other person with an interest in the site entitled to grant permission.
No obstruction of traffic signs
No advertisement shall be sited or displayed so as to obscure, or hinder the ready interpretation of any traffic sign/railway or tramway signal or aid to navigation by water or air, or so as to render hazardous the use of any highway, railway, tramway, harbour or aerodrome.
Approved plans
This approval relates to the erection of signage at the entrance of Peel Association Football Club, Douglas Road, Peel as shown by the plans and information 2108/1, 2108/2, 2108/3 and Photographs x 4 all received 14th November 2008.
