Private objectors (property owner and dental practice) raised concerns about noise, smoking, and lack of operating details for a proposed betting shop change of use; Douglas Borough requested deferral for review.
Key concern: noise and smoking disturbances to nearby residential and dental premises
Andy Cassidy
ObjectionHaving viewed the plans I can see no reference to the proposed opening hours of the premises or indeed any reference to a proposed smoking area for the shops clientele.; Clearly these issues will affect me and possibly the value of my property in the long run
Hailwood Dental Practice
ObjectionIn a dental environment patients must feel safe and relaxed away from noise and disturbances.; Due to the smoking ban customers from the betting office will be smoking outside the entrance, as we are situated next door to the betting office this will become a problem
