recommend that the application be APPROVED for planning purposes only
Friends of Onchan Heritage objected to the replacement window not matching the original Baillie Scott design, recommending refusal or a four-light window; Onchan District Commissioners recommended approval for planning purposes.
Key concern: proposed window does not match original Baillie Scott design of four equal sections
Friends of Onchan Heritage
ObjectionWe were surprised to see this work being the subject of an application for Registered Building Consent when what is proposed is a straightforward replacement on a like for like basis.; The original Baillie Scott designed window would have been in four equal sections rather than the large pane in the centre.; On the basis that alterations to Registered Buildings should enhance the building and that replacement windows should be as originally installed then we would ask the Planning Committee to request an application for a window of four lights (two fixed and two opening).
Conditions requested: request an application for a window of four lights (two fixed and two opening)
Onchan District Commissioners
SupportThe Commissioners recommend that the application be APPROVED for planning purposes only.
