The officer noted that from the frontage to Michael Street, the new flue would not be visible at all, and judged that the conservation area would not be affected.

Conditional No ObjectionAgainst a daytime background noise level of 35 dB(A) this is unlikely to cause a noise nuisance.; I would recommend the following noise condition, in order to prevent noise nuisance to local residents
Conditions requested: The rating level of the noise emitted from the fan and associated ducting, shall not exceed LAeq, 1 hour - 40 dB daytime (0700 – 2300) and LAeq, 5 minute - 30 dB night time (2300 – 0700) as measured at the façade to the window of any neighbouring residential premises. The rating level shall be measured and calculated in accordance with BS 4142:1997.; The duct terminal to the kitchen extract system shall be located 1m above the roof as located on plan Drawing DD1 dated 12/07/04 to aid dispersion of odour.
