Approved drawings
This approval relates to the installation of an ATM machine as shown in drawings LP (04) 041 and RSS (04) 041 both received on 21st June, 2004.
Waste paper facility
The facility must include a waste paper facility so that litter from the machine does not detrimentally affect the Conservation Area in which the facility is to be located.
no views, no adverse traffic impacts
Laxey Village Commissioners initially had no objections but recommended relocating the ATM from the front due to visibility in the conservation area, later strongly objecting citing impacts on the building's character, pedestrian safety, and litter; Highways Division had no objections due to no adverse traffic impacts.
Key concern: installation would be unsympathetic to this prominent building in the heart of the Conservation area
Laxey Village Commissioners
Conditional No ObjectionThe Board have no objections to the installation of an ATM. However the Board considers that the proposed location would be too visible in a conservation area, and would recommend that the applicant consider placing the ATM on the side of the building rather than the front.
Laxey Village Commissioners
ObjectionThe Commissioners strongly oppose the installation of an ATM to the front of the shop for the following reasons: The installation would be unsympathetic to this prominent building in the heart of the Conservation area. The footpath in front of the store is quite narrow and users of the facility would force pedestrians to walk into the road. The Commissioners are concerned that paper receipts from the machine could cause a litter problem in the village centre.
