General Policy 8
Permits rural advertisements if on/next to premises, no detraction from area/landscape, traditional materials unless inappropriate, minimal hooded illumination, no highway hazard, no ecological light impact. Officer tested proposed board's location against existing businesses (a), visual impact on buildings (b), normal construction (c), absence of light (d/f), and siting for highway safety (e via condition); all met without tension.
Time limit
The development hereby permitted shall be commenced before the expiration of four years from the date of this notice.
Maintenance
Any advertisements displayed, and any site used for the display of advertisements, shall be maintained in a clean and tidy condition to the reasonable satisfaction of the Department.
Structural safety
Any structure or hoarding erected or used principally for the purpose of displaying advertisements shall be maintained in a safe condition.
Removal compliance
Where an advertisement is required under these Regulations to be removed, the removal shall be carried out to the reasonable satisfaction of the Department.
Site owner permission
No advertisement is to be displayed without permission of the owner of the site or any other person with an interest in the site entitled to grant permission.
No highway hazard
No advertisement shall be sited or displayed so as to obscure, or hinder the ready interpretation of any traffic sign, railway or tramway signal or aid to navigation by water or air, or so as to render hazardous the use of any highway, railway, tramway, harbour or aerodrome.
Approved plans
This approval relates to Plan A, Plan B and Plan C date stamped the 2nd October 2009.
Highway setback
The signage shall be set back at three metres from the highway to ensure that visibility for emerging vehicles is not compromised.
Existing signage removal
Within one month of the erection of the signage hereby permitted by this approval all existing signage currently displayed at the entrance to the site must either be transferred to the new signage or removed from the site.
