Hi Darleen,
I have no objection, in principle, to the removal of a chimney at the rear of the property. I would note, from recent planning conditions on “new builds” in a traditional street scene, that there appears to be a requirement to construct fake or pretend chimneys to match existing properties, but that does not apply here if the chimney is not at the gable ends.
Alec.

Hello Alec
Hope all is well with you.
When I was on leave a planning application came into the office, details are:
PA15/00173/B - Ms M V Frankwick, for the removal of a chimney stack at Melrose, Four Roads, Port St Mary.
The only details we have on this is a couple of photographs showing the stack at the rear of the property with an arrow drawn on pointing at it! The applicant states it's removal is required as it is damaged and leaking. The stack is no longer in use.
Look forward to hearing your opinion.
Kind regards Darleen
