The works have no visual impact from public view as the site is set below and behind a 2-2.4m high stone wall along eastern and southern boundaries, which remains unchanged.
General Policy 2
Requires development in zoning to respect site/surroundings in siting/layout/scale, avoid adverse impacts on landscape/townscape/amenities/highways, provide safe access/parking, and consider stability/flooding. Officer assessed proposal against all criteria, finding compliance due to no visual impact, beneficial parking, no highway objections, minimal amenity effects given level differences, and site's suitability despite stability concerns deferred to applicant.

ObjectionMy main concern is the lack of the stability of the land in the Port St Mary area - especially my plot now that the Albert Hotel garden has gone, thus weakening my land.; the wall on the edge of my garden, which divides my property from the Albert Hotel now has a steep drop behind it. Has consideration been given to the fact that my gas holding tank- which is against this wall - as well as the mains water supply and sewers which follow that line, could be endangered?; The ash tree which grew in the Albert Hotel garden was obviously removed without permission
Conditions requested: Planning Officer visits the site, and also my property, to see the situation
