General Policy 2
General Policy 2 of the Isle of Man Strategic Plan 2016 permits development in accordance with land-use zoning and other policies, provided it respects the site and surroundings in terms of siting, layout, scale, form, design; does not adversely affect the character of the surrounding landscape or townscape; does not adversely affect amenity of residents or character of locality; and is designed with regard to reducing energy consumption. The site is zoned for Buildings or Land for Civic, Cultural or Other use on the Area Plan for the South. The officer assessed the minor refurbishment works as compliant, with matching slates, small rooflights, and window alterations having minimal visual impact and respecting the building's scale and form.
Time limit
The development hereby approved shall be begun before the expiration of four years from the date of this decision notice. Reason: To comply with Article 26 of the Town and Country Planning (Development Procedure) Order 2019 and to avoid the accumulation of unimplemented planning approvals.
