The main issue considered was the impact of the proposed signage relocation on the character and appearance of the street scene.
General Policy 2
GP2 permits development in accordance with land-use zoning and other policies if it respects the site and surroundings in terms of siting, layout, scale, form, design; does not adversely affect townscape character; and does not harm local amenity. The officer assessed the signage relocation against criteria (b), (c), and (g), finding no adverse impacts on character or amenity due to no changes in design and direct relation to the building.
General Policy 6
GP6 permits external advertisements in towns that are high standard design relating well to the building/site, in keeping with the area, and not causing highway hazards. The officer confirmed the relocated signage meets all criteria (a)-(c) as it retains existing design, relates to the office use over the entrance, and drew no highway objections.
Time limit for implementation
The advertisement(s) hereby granted consent shall be begun before the expiration of four years from the date of this notice. Reason: To avoid the accumulation of unimplemented advertisement consents.
