I refer you to my comments on PA 15/00145/A, regarding the possibility of unrecorded bats, and the resulting Planning Condition 6 of the same application, requiring a bat assessment prior to demolition. Has this been undertaken?
Conditions requested: bat assessment prior to demolition
IOM Victorian Society
ObjectionWe write to object to the above application to demolish a building that falls within our period of study (1830-1914) and would request party status.; This corner of Andreas, therefore, currently contains the original school of 1836, the original School Master’s house of 1837, the Girls School of 1852, and the Board School of 1902/03. No other corner of the Island has such a chronological collection of educational buildings all still extant.; A decision on this application should not be made without having previously properly established its contribution to the heritage of the village enclave within the Parish of Andreas through its past users and its potential for rejuvenation by an alternative use.; Additional Mention has been made of the possibility of bats in the vicinity... no evidence has been submitted with this application to show that they are either present or not, despite being crucial to the proposals.
Conditions requested: plan and section of the juxtaposition of the walls separating the hall from 'Gladwyn'; elevational drawing showing that gable and the wall finishes to any new exposed portions; structural survey to establish if buttresses will be necessary
