In pursuance of powers granted under the above Act and Order the Department of Local Government and the Environment does hereby REFUSE the following application made on behalf of:
Name: Mr & Mrs Frank Miles Proposal: Alterations and erection of first floor extension at: 20 King Edward Park Onchan Isle Of Man IM3 2AB
which was considered on 20th February 2009, for the reasons set out below.
Date of Issue: 23rd February 2009
Murray House Mount Havelock Douglas Secretary to the Planning Committee
Reason(S) For Refusal:
- The design, height, prominent location and appearance of the proposal would be detrimental to the visual amenity of the property and the surrounding area and would set an undesirable precedent for future development of a similar nature along King Edward Park to the detriment of public and residential amenity within the area.
- The proposed dwelling, by virtue of its proximity, height and length would have an overbearing impact upon the outlook of the occupiers of Nr 18 King Edward Park and thereby would be un-neighbourly and unacceptable.
