Environment Policy 35
Policy requires that within Conservation Areas, only development which preserves or enhances the character or appearance of the Area is permitted, protecting special features. The officer tested the shopfront replacement against this, finding the existing unattractive and the proposal an enhancement by improving the streetscene and reinstating full window height matching the adjacent property, despite non-traditional aluminium framing.
Time limit
The development hereby permitted shall commence before the expiration of four years from the date of this notice.
