ISLE OF MAN PLANNING SCHEME (DEVELOPMENT PLAN) ORDER 1982 08/02016/B – Alterations, reconstruction, and extension of rear annex to create an additional residential unit and parking, Summerville, 17 York Road, Douglas, Isle of Man, IM2 3BN.
Douglas Corporation acts as the agent for the Department of Transport, under the Sewerage Act 1999 writes to advise that it has no objection in principle to the above application subject to the following:-
Drainage Layout Requirements
The private drainage serving the existing 3 apartments and the proposed ‘annexe’ to the rear, must communicate with the public sewer separately, as to comply with the Department of Transport Drainage Division requirements.
Details of the revised drainage layout must be provided to the Borough of Douglas Drainage Department for approval, prior to any work commencing on site.
A communication fee will be payable to the Department of Transport in respect of the separate drainage connection.
Note: It is a legal requirement under the Sewerage Act 1999 that Douglas Corporations Drainage Department be advised, in advance, of the date of the connection o to the public sewer
It should be noted that it is an offence under Manx legislation to permit the discharge of polluting or harmful matter to any public sewers or watercourses. Appropriate measures must be taken by the developer/occupier of the premises to ensure compliance with the legislation.
