Housing Policy 8
HP8 requires that permissions for agricultural dwellings include a condition restricting occupation to persons engaged or last engaged solely in agriculture, or their widows/widowers/resident dependants. Para 8.9.4 states such conditions will not usually be removed unless long-term need for agricultural workers' dwellings on the farm and in the locality no longer warrants it. The officer assessed the application against this, finding evidence inadequate as the holding is still farmed for grazing, property not marketed, and neighbouring farm indicated possible future need.
