Officer's Report

The site is a major TV relay station for the island. The proposed works are in connection with the proposed Digital Switchover, which is due to take place in June 2009. The works are relatively minor and will not adversely affect the visual amenities of the locality.

The notes suggested by consultees are not material planning considerations and for that reason are not attached to the report, as part of the recommendation.

Recommendation

It is recommended that planning permission be granted subject to conditions.

Party Status

The Department of Transport and the local authority are, by virtue of the Town and Country Planning (Development Procedure) Order 2005, paragraph 6 (5) (c) and (d), considered "interested persons" and as such should be afforded party status.

Whilst Manx Electricity Authority represents a statutory authority, the points raised in correspondence relate to Building Control matters and not planning and as such should not be afforded party status in this instance.

C 1. The development hereby permitted shall commence before the expiration of four years from the date of this notice.

C 2. This permission relates to the installation of three dishes and one antenna as shown in drawing numbers P14068_50_100_M09_09, P14068_50_150_M09_09, P14068_50_160_M09_09, P14068_00_004_01 and supporting statement from National Grid Wireless date stamped 17 July 2008.

C 3. InoV In the event of the antenna and dishes erected under this approval becomes redundant they must be taken down along with all ancillary infrastructure and be removed from the site within 3 months of the cessation of use.
