Site The site represents the curtilage of St Georges Mill, Glen Road, Laxey, which consists of a large two storey, detached property. The site is located on the eastern side of Glen Road
Land Use Zoning The site has been zoned under the Laxey and Lonan Local Plan as being within an area of Light Industrial Use, the site is also within a Conservation Area.
Planning History There are no previous planning applications which are considered relevant in the assessment and determination of this application.

We have received no privately written representations objecting to the application.
Assessment / recommendation
The proposed works are very modest and will be beneficial to the appearance of the existing building and upon the visual appearance of the Conservation Area. The Conservation Officer has no objections. For these reasons the proposal would be appropriate in this location and therefore my recommendation is for an approval.

C 1 . The development hereby permitted shall commence before the expiration of four years from the date of this notice.
C 2 . This approval relates to the re tilling as proposed in the submitted documents and drawings 00392/1 and 00392/1 all received on 26th February 2008.
C 3 . The roof(s) must be finished in dark natural slate. N 1 . It is recommended that there should be consultation with the Department's Conservation Officer regarding the availability of grant assistance towards the cost of re-tiling.
