Housing Policy 15
Housing Policy 15 states that the extension or alteration of existing traditionally styled properties in the countryside will normally only be approved where these respect the proportion, form and appearance of the existing property, and only exceptionally where extensions exceed 50% of existing floor space. The officer assessed the proposal as sympathetic to the existing building with a modest net increase, located on the rear elevation not visible publicly, thus respecting the policy requirements without tension over scale.
