The Alteration and Replacement of Windows Circular 1/98 - Policy 6
Policy 6 requires windows not readily visible from a public thoroughfare to have the same or similar pattern of glazing bars as the originals, but not necessarily the original method of opening, whatever the material used. The rear elevation windows are not visible from public thoroughfares, and the uPVC casements replicate the original glazing sections, satisfying the policy without tension.
