Environment Policy 35
Requires that within a Conservation Area, only development which preserves or enhances the character and appearance of the Area is permitted, protecting special features. The officer tested the chimney removal against this, initially noting dominant chimneys add character but concluding removal enhances the specific building's appearance and street scene by reducing dominance and highlighting the corner feature.
Time limit
The development hereby permitted shall commence before the expiration of four years from the date of this notice.
