Refusal Notice 06/01687/R
Town and Country Planning Act 1999
Town and Country (Development Procedure) Order 2005
Penketh - Millar 1 Dale Street Ramsey Isle Of Man IM8 1BJ
In pursuance of powers granted under the above Act and Order the PLANNING COMMITTEE of the Department of Local Government and the Environment does hereby REFUSE the following application made on behalf of:
Name: Glen Auldyn Sporting Syndicate Proposal: Retention of planted, and approval for completion of an afforestation scheme at: Glen Auldyn Lezayre Isle Of Man
which was considered on 8 March 2007, for the reasons set out below.
Date of Issue: 20th March, 2007
Murray House Mount Havelock Douglas
Secretary Planning Committee
Reasons For Refusal:
- The planting schemes would have a detrimental appearance upon the traditional upland landscape which has been zoned as an area of High Landscape or Coastal Value and Scenic Significance and within an area of Nature Conservation Zones, Nature Reserves & Sites of Ecological Importance for Conservation, as the planting schemes have been/would be planted in blocks which would give a very artificial appearance.
NOTE 1. This is without prejudice to a further application for planting schemes of a more natural appearance, incorporating the planting which has already taken place.
