In pursuance of powers granted under the above Acts and Order the Department of Local Government and the Environment does hereby REFUSE the following application made on behalf of:
Name: Mrs Monica Croft & Mrs Dorothy Salmon Proposal: Conversion to form restaurant with ancillary accommodation at lower ground level, alterations to form two apartments on upper floors with removal of existing pitched roof to create a flat roof deck, installation of door, windows and handrail to rear elevation at: 42 Broadway Douglas Isle Of Man IM2 4EW
which was considered on 16 December 2005, for the reasons set out below.

Reasons For Refusal:
- There is no off-street parking provision for residents of the flats or the staff in the restaurant; further on-street parking in this area would add to existing congestion.
- The access to, and general environment of the flats is poor and unsatisfactory.
- This review has been considered by the Planning Committee on written evidence. Any additional submissions not previously circulated to interested parties are enclosed herewith.
Note 1: The decision contained in this notice does not become final until:-
- the time for requesting an appeal in relation to any decision at review has expired; or
- any appeal has been completed.
Note 2: Rights of appeal against the decision of the planning committee are attached.
Note 3: An appeal may be requested within a period of 21 days.
