Local Government (Control of Advertisements) Bylaws 1952
The bylaws govern the erection of hoardings and display of advertisements. The approval was granted in compliance with the bylaws' requirements, subject to standard conditions on maintenance, safety, non-obstruction of traffic signs, and land owner permission. The temporary banner was assessed as compliant given its short duration and lack of consultee objections.
Time limit for commencement
The development hereby permitted shall be commenced before the expiration of four years from the date of this notice.
Maintenance of advertisements
Any advertisements displayed and any land used for the display of advertisements shall be maintained in a clean and tidy condition to the reasonable satisfaction of the Committee.
Structural safety
Any hoarding or similar structure or any sign, placard, board or device erected or used principally for the purpose of displaying advertisements shall be maintained in a safe condition to the reasonable satisfaction of the Committee.
No obstruction of traffic signs
Any advertisement hoarding shall not be sited or displayed so as to obscure or hinder the ready interpretation of any road traffic sign, railway signal or signal for the control of safety of navigation by water or air, or so as to render hazardous the use of any highway, railway or airfield.
Land owner permission
Before any advertisement is sited or displayed on any land, the permission of the owner of the land, or a person entitled to grant such permission, shall be obtained.
Temporary period
This approval is for a period of 12 months only, after which the signs must be removed.
