Guy J Thompson The Old Paint Shop Athol Street Port St Mary IM9 5DS
In pursuance of powers granted under the above Acts and Order the Department of Local Government and the Environment does hereby REFUSE the following application made on behalf of:
Name: Mr & Mrs F Carey Proposal: Approval in principle for the creation of three building plots with improved private access road, on land to rear of at: Old School House South Cape Laxey IM4 7HZ
which was considered on 12 May 2005, for the reasons set out below.
Date of Issue: 19 May, 2005
Murray House Mount Havelock Douglas
Secretary Planning Committee
Reasons For Refusal:
- The proposed development of the application site for three dwellings is considered to represent over intensive development that would result in unacceptable detrimental impacts on the amenity of the existing surrounding properties.
- The application fails to demonstrate appropriate sightlines and visibility for the proposed new access, which accesses and egresses onto the inside of a bend on the A2, contrary to the interests of highway safety.
- This review has been considered by the Planning Committee on written evidence. Any additional submissions not previously circulated to interested parties are enclosed herewith.
Note 1: The decision contained in this notice does not become final until:-

- any appeal has been completed.
