REASONS FOR REFUSAL
Application Ref No: 03/00070/B On Review
- The proposed replacement windows by reason of their design and method of opening would detract from the character and appearance of the building which is located within the Castletown Conservation Area and be contrary to the provisions of Planning Circular 1/98 The Alteration, and Replacement of Windows.
NOTE This decision is without prejudice to the submission of a further application which proposes sliding sash windows. The applicant is strongly advised to contract the Conservation Section of the Department who may be able to provide a non-means tested grant of up to 50% of the cost of suitably designed replacement windows or the refurbishment of the existing.
NOTE This review has been considered by the Planning Committee on written evidence. Any additional submissions not previously circulated to interested parties are enclosed herewith.
