General Policy 2
GP2 permits development in line with zoning if it respects site surroundings in siting, scale, design (b), does not adversely affect landscape/townscape character (c), and does not harm local residents' amenity (g). The officer assessed the cladding and lighting against these, finding they improve the building's appearance in an industrial area without adverse impacts on visual amenities, streetscene, or neighbouring properties.
Environment Policy 22
ENV22 prohibits development causing unacceptable harm from light pollution or disturbance. The officer considered the external lighting, noting it is well-placed as minor additions to enhance architecture without obtrusive spillover to adjoining areas or highway, in line with guidance on security lighting impacts.
Time limit
The development hereby approved shall be begun before the expiration of four years from the date of this decision notice. Reason: To comply with Article 26 of the Town and Country Planning (Development Procedure) Order 2019 and to avoid the accumulation of unimplemented planning approvals.
