Victorian Society
ObjectionWe are concerned over the proposal to have a cement render and paint finish to the tearoom extension as the colour is likely to draw attention to the new work and take away from the original building. We would suggest that the use of second hand Welsh slate for a slate hung wall finish would have a less detrimental effect by being less prominent.; The association of Ruskin with this building and its use as the only outlet for the famous Guild of St George is probably sufficient for it to be registered at sometime on account of its historical importance.
