General Policy 6
Requires advertisements in towns/villages to be high standard design/materials relating well to building/site, in keeping/not detracting from area, and not causing highway safety hazard. Officer assessed the three signs meet all criteria: relate to the car showroom use, match existing signage on nearby businesses, freestanding sign positioned away from access to avoid hazard.
General Policy 7
Restricts advertisements on sites/buildings other than those they relate to. All proposed signs are on the Eurocars site itself (fascia on showroom, wall on workshop, freestanding to front), so compliant; no off-site elements proposed.
Standard advertisement conditions
a) The development hereby permitted shall be commenced before the expiration of four years from the date of this notice. b) Any advertisements displayed, and any site used for the display of advertisements, shall be maintained in a clean and tidy condition to the reasonable satisfaction of the Department. c) Any structure or hoarding erected or used principally for the purpose of displaying advertisements shall be maintained in a safe condition. d) Where an advertisement is required under these Regulations to be removed, the removal shall be carried out to the reasonable satisfaction of the Department. e) No advertisement is to be displayed without permission of the owner of the site or any other person with an interest in the site entitled to grant permission. f) No advertisement shall be sited or displayed so as to obscure, or hinder the ready interpretation of any traffic sign, railway or tramway signal or aid to navigation by water or air, or so as to render hazardous the use of any highway, railway, tramway, harbour or aerodrome.
