Refusal Notice 09/00328/B
Town and Country Planning Act 1999
Town and Country (Development Procedure) Order 2005
Arch-Tec (IOM) Ltd The Architectural Studio Stanley House Lord Street Douglas IM1 2BF
In pursuance of powers granted under the above Act and Order the Department of Local Government and the Environment does hereby REFUSE the following application made on behalf of:
Name: Mr & Mrs Terry Thomson Proposal:
- Erection of a detached double garage with ancillary living accommodation above
at:
- 8 The Willows
- Ballasalla
- Isle Of Man
- IM9 2EW
which was considered on 23rd April 2009, for the reasons set out below.
Date of Issue: 24th April 2009
Murray House Mount Havelock Douglas
Deputy Secretary to the Planning Committee
Reason(S) For Refusal:
- The proposed building would be significantly higher than the hedging alongside which it would sit and, with its gable ends and dormers which would distinguish it from the main dwelling with which it is associated, would result in the building being a dominant and intrusive element within the streetscene and thus contrary to the provisions of General Policy 2b and 2c.
This decision was made by the Senior Planning Officer in accordance with the authority delegated to her under Article 3(13) of the Town and Country (Development Procedure) Order 2005.
