Dear Sarah,
I was just going to summarise the design statement and response to the comments;
Very simply as set out below.
———————————
We sought to develop the existing approval, whilst utilising the principles of the small dwelling over parking
within the ground floor.
We have done this over time and with great consideration and design development involving the planning
department.
Searching into the sites history through holiday postcards from the early 20th Century revealed to us a clue as to
how the building could look and feel and how this might link the history of the site with a modern building.
The simplicity of form and the use of one predominant material which is subserviant to the heavy manx stone
construction of the adjacent cottage was our design inspiration.
Rather than any replication of the past we have interpreted the past and combined it into a contemporary house
which is subservient to surroundings.
