Planning Statement Pews Removal

PLANNING STATEMENT PROPOSED REMOVAL OF SIX PEWS MICHAEL & ALL ANGELS (PARISH CHURCH)

The proposal is to remove six pews from the north wall adjacent to the war memorial rather similar to an earlier scheme where pews were removed on the south wall.

The purpose of the removal of the pews is to afford greater access to the war memorial particularly on Remembrance Sundays whereby it is very difficult for worshipers to place their wreaths and indeed difficult for older members of the congregation and those in wheel chairs.

The removal of the pews will also allow greater freedom and wall space for temporary exhibitions and community events. One pew will be re-fixed longitudinally along the north wall. BUILDING & BUILDING COUNCIL RECEIVED ON 7 AUG 2020 COPY OF ENVIRONMENT AND ARRANGEMENT
