Strategic Policy 8
Requires tourist proposals to use existing built fabric of interest/quality without adversely affecting environmental, agricultural, or highway interests. Officer assessed the Manx stone outbuilding as suitable historic fabric with no such adverse impacts identified.
Housing Policy 11
Permits conversion of rural buildings to dwellings if criteria met including structural integrity, historic interest, and no incompatibility with surroundings. Cited for context of prior approval and to support reuse without fragmentation; further extensions not usually permitted.
Business Policy 13
Generally permits tourist use of private residential properties if no compromise to neighbour amenities. Officer found no demonstrable harm due to site characteristics and lack of objections.
Time limit
The development hereby approved shall be begun before the expiration of four years from the date of this decision notice. Reason: To comply with article 14 of the Town and Country Planning (Development Procedure) (No2) Order 2013 and to avoid the accumulation of unimplemented planning approvals.
Reversion to residential use
Should the tourist accommodation no longer be required, the tourist accommodation hereby approved is required to revert back to living accommodation associated with the main dwellinghouse "Renscault Farm" as a single dwelling.
