Key concern: lack of wildflower meadow species list and management regime
DEFA Ecosystem Policy
Can you get more information from the applicant about what this actually means? They have not supplied a species list, or are they just intending on managing the existing wildflowers? And they have not included a management regime; I would not like to see any seed mixes used in this area; the section on shrub and hedge planting mentions the use of glyphosate and removal of all vegetation underneath the shrub and hedge planting. This is unnecessary and could also damage surrounding habitat; I hope the use of glyphosate is not also intended for the wildflower area
Conditions requested: more information from applicant on wildflower meadow including species list and management regime; maintenance regime for wildflower meadow; no seed mixes to be used in wildflower area; confirmation that glyphosate is not intended for wildflower area
