Highways Division initially deferred but later issued DNO (Do Not Oppose) with no conditions. Arboricultural Officer raised concerns about the new fence position impacting existing trees and requested clarification.
Key concern: new fence position set back from current position appears to go straight through the existing trees
Department of Infrastructure (DOI) - Highways Division
No ObjectionThe proposal is to replace existing fencing with new fencing incorporating a new pedestrian access gate with concrete steps.; The pedestrian gate will access onto an exisitng footway. The fencing will not impact visibility for pedestrians or vehicles.; Highway Services does not oppose this application.
Andrew Igoea, Arboricultural Officer
if the replacement fence was erected in the same position as the existing fence then the impact upon the trees would be minimal.; The plans seem to show that the position of the new fence will be set back from its current position and as a result, appears to go straight through the existing trees.; I agree that the applicant needs to clarify this point.
