3rd February 2017
Department of Environment Food and Agriculture Planning and Building Control Directorate Murray House Mount Havelock Douglas IM1 2SF
Dear Planning,
The Commissioners wish to submit their views on the following planning applications:
16/01374/B - Mr A Cashen Cheu Yn Chrink Port Lewaigue Close Maughold - Erection of agricultural/coppicing building and improvements to existing vehicular access Field 131811 Narradale Sulby - Refused Unanimous. The Commissioners feel that the proposed building is too big and not commercially viable for the business. The building appears to be a secure, enclosed design not necessarily suited for coppicing. We note the applicant has indicated that the creation of the required visibility spay will necessitate the removal of part of a conservation verge. We also note that highways have commented on this application in terms of the visibility spay being maintained to a height of 1.05m. Will this be possible as the conservation verge can only be cut after the end of August each year? We further note that at the time of our submission, comments have not been received from the Manx Wildlife Trust on this application. If the planners are mindful to approve this application the commissioners would like to suggest the following. A smaller store erected closer to the access with the hardstanding created to the front of it, rather than the side, so that the hardstanding area is hidden behind the building from the roadside.
17/00017/B - M K Quane and Mrs S McMahon Balladromma Beg Jurby Road Lezayre - Alterations and extiosion (incorporating amendments to PA16/01143/B) Mrs Quane declared an interest and did not take part in the discussion. Approved Unanimous.
Yours sincerely,
M J Rimmer
