support the application
no objection subject to conditions on access, visibility splays, highway improvements, and car parking
Rushen Parish Commissioners initially objected to specific elements of the sports pitches application but supported the overall concept, later confirming no objections to amended plans; Port Erin Commissioners fully supported the application.
Key concern: storage containers positioned too close to Ponyfields development
Rushen Parish Commissioners
ObjectionRPC object to the two 'stores' which are containers, which are indicated as positioned by the overspill car park and very close to the Ponyfields development. They would like these to be on the other side of the field and for both to be painted in the same, appropriate, colour.; Rushen Parish Commissioners have fought for 20 years to have the fields at Ballakilley as recreational and sports; Rushen Commissioners have always, and still remain, extremely committed to having Rugby Pitches and other sporting facilities there along with a BMX track, walking areas, etc.
Conditions requested: stores to be on the other side of the field and both painted in the same, appropriate, colour; trees planted down the boundary wall with the Ballafesson Road to provide some sort of screening; pedestrian access from Ballafesson Road
Port Erin Commissioners
SupportThe Board discussed the above application at their meeting on 12th January and are fully supportive of the application.
