The key issue was whether the proposed works would preserve or enhance the character and appearance of the Selborne Drive Conservation Area, as required by Environment Policy 35.
Environment Policy 35
Policy ENV35 requires that within Conservation Areas, development must preserve or enhance the character or appearance of the Area and protect special features. The officer tested the front elevation replacement windows against this, noting existing aluminium features are not original or attractive. The uPVC rosewood proposal was assessed as a slight improvement, thus preserving or enhancing the character.
Time limit
The development hereby permitted shall commence before the expiration of four years from the date of this notice.
