To erect three removable timber cubicles with doors (inward opening) against the promenade wall, fixed to the walkway adjacent to pedestrian access to the beach and are to be used as changing huts for persons wishing to change before/after swimming or using the beach.
The size of the proposed huts are 2.15 mtrs High (plus 600mm to ridge)x 3.80 mtrs Long x 1.80 mtrs Depth and will be constructed from softwood timber and painted in three different pastel colours. 10. a) Please state the existing use of the site (e.g. residential, office, retail etc.) public land b) Please state the proposed use of the site. In any assessment of this application PLEASE BE AWARE that the Case Officer may undertake to visit the site to ensure 1) the site notice has been correctly placed/erected, 2) check the application content against the proposed work / site levels 3) speak to neighbours, if they feel it relevant, and 4) Take photographs where necessary.
Building Regulations
The proposed huts will be built singly from a sturdy softwood construction and fixed together on site for ease of erection/dismantling & fixed to the ground. The huts will be brought from storage & erected in April and removed from site following the end of each summer season in September.
The doors will be inward opening and stayed to ensure safety & so not to interfere with persons using the promenade when in use. The roof will be a solid timber construction and treated with a glass fibre or similar roofing paint in dark green or grey finish.
The promenade walkway is 8.0 mtrs wide (not including the raised footpath) so leaving 5.80 mtrs access in the immediate area. For courtesy IOM Harbours have been contacted along with relevant emergency services to inform with no current objection. (INCLUDING REFERENCES FROM A91)
