Three consultees responded to the planning application: Isle of Man Victorian Society and Friends of Onchan's Heritage both support the repair proposals shown on the plans and suggest no planning permission is needed, while DOI Highways Division has no highways interest.
Key concern: Discrepancy between applicant's description of demolition/rebuild and actual repair proposals on plans
Isle of Man Victorian Society
SupportFirstly we would advise that we are in support of the proposals for this unique and iconic building; In our opinion, the whole of Curtains' proposals do not require planning approval and the application should be withdrawn; this work is entirely one of repair on a like-for-like basis
Friends of Onchan's Heritage
SupportWe are in support of this; If it is to be a repair, then we don't see a need for a planning application which only delays the repair work commencing; We support the repair proposals
