MY Ref; Onchan parking
Dear Secretary,
PA 18/00785; creation of parking ...
Third Avenue is compact with not a lot of space for other vehicles to manoeuvre.
However in my opinion this proposal might seem minor in itself but is deleterious to the local environment in so far as;
- the concreting of the lawn will increase the speed of rainfall runoff and reduce the absorbency of the ground, increasing the chance of flash-flooding downhill,
- the removal of the wall will spoil the visual symmetry of the cul-de-sac,
- It will not allow vehicles to access and egress because of lack of turning space. Therefore they will have to reverse either into or out of the proposed parking. It is not safe (particularly for pedestrians).
- Cars parked in front of buildings will look awful (I thought there was a policy against this)
- It will set a terrible precedent for all the other properties to do likewise, not just in Third Avenue but everywhere on the Island.
I have no direct interest in the site or application.
Yours faithfully,

Mr G A Clark
