Planning Application for relocation of Oil Tank

Introduction
The construction of the house extension (Planning approval 22/00751/B) requires the relocation of
the existing Oil Tank to a position where it can still feed the Oil Boiler in the garage.
Restricted width of the access behind the garage dictates that it cannot be positioned directly
behind the garage and to move it further into the rear garden is impractical so approval is sought
for locating it behind the front gate at a low level.
The advantages of this location are ease of access for filling, gravity feed to the boiler and by
digging out the garden behind the gate as proposed the existing shrubbery can be utilised for
additional visual shielding from the road.
The concrete foundation slab will also have an added use to store the bins and recycling boxes,
again giving easy access for the Local Authority collection.
Construction
The attached plans show that a small area (approx. 3m square and 700mm deep sloping down to
driveway level) will be excavated and a 100mm think concrete slab cast on compacted hardcore.
Then the two sides and rear of the excavation will be supported by blockwork walls and backfilled.
This is the full extent of the construction work for this application.
