Time limit
The development hereby approved shall be begun before the expiration of four years from the date of this decision notice. Reason: To comply with Article 26 of the Town and Country Planning (Development Procedure) Order 2019 and to avoid the accumulation of unimplemented planning approvals.
No objection; supports as part of wider parking strategy to consolidate contract parking demand (especially corporate), free up short-stay spaces elsewhere; regrets loss of spaces but prefers managed contract parking over untaxed vehicle dumping
Do not oppose; no significant negative impact on highway safety, network functionality or parking; suggests bicycle parking and EV charging
Highway Services Division and DOI Highways do not oppose the application with suggestions for cycle parking and EV charging; Castletown Commissioners do not object despite disappointment over loss of public parking; DOI Highways Drainage raises concerns over surface water runoff; a resident objects due to potential increased trespass parking.
Key concern: No details of the interphase of surface water run-off and the highway has been demonstrated
Highway Services Division
No ObjectionAfter reviewing this Application, Highway Services HDC finds it to have no significant negative impact upon highway safety, network functionality and /or parking.; The Applicant should consider installing bicycle parking and electric vehicle charging points to at least 10% of the total amount of spaces and ducting to the remainder to aid net zero objectives.; Highways Development Control notes the amended description notified on 2 November 2022 with additional information. HDC continues to apply do not oppose to this proposal with the Applicant requested to consider installing cycle parking storage and electric vehicle charging points.
Castletown Commissioners
No ObjectionMy Board do not object to the application; they are disappointed with the potential loss of parking spaces to fit the apparatus; whilst in the ideal world we would like the car park to provide public parking which is free of charge at the point of use, or a mix of both we are not naive enough to believe that this in an option without dedicated enforcement.
DOI Highways Drainage
ObjectionRecommendation: No details of the interphase of surface water run-off and the highway has been demonstrated?
