Planning Refusal Notice 08/01992/B
Town and Country Planning Act 1999
Town and Country (Development Procedure) Order 2005
GCA Architects Carmodil Beg Studio Glen Road Ballaugh
In pursuance of powers granted under the above Act and Order the PLANNING COMMITTEE of the Department of Local Government and the Environment does hereby REFUSE the following application made on behalf of:
Name: Mr Robinson Proposal: Erection of replacement building to provide garage, store and study area at: Ballamenagh Moar Farm Ballamenagh Road Baldrine Isle Of Man IM4 6AJ
which was considered on 30th January 2009, for the reasons set out below.
Date of Issue: 2nd February 2009
Murray House Mount Havelock Douglas Deputy Secretary to the Planning Committee
Reason(S) For Refusal:
- The application site is not zoned for development and is within an area of High Landscape Value or Coastal Value and Scenic Significance. Therefore the proposal is contrary to both adopted general planning policy within the Isle of Man Strategic Plan and The Isle of Man Development Plan, which seek to restrict such development within the countryside. The proposal would harm the character and quality of the landscape and introduce an incongruous visual intrusion that would have the appearance of a newly built dwelling in the open countryside.
This decision was made by the Planning Committee constituted in accordance with Article 3(1) of the Town and Country Planning (Development Procedure) Order 2005.
The decision contained in this notice does not become final until either;
