General Policy 2
Requires development to respect site and surroundings in terms of siting, layout, scale, form, design; not adversely affect surrounding townscape character or locality amenity. Officer assessed the door replacement respects the garage's existing form and has minimal townscape impact due to limited visibility, thus complying.

Proposals must protect or enhance the fabric and setting of Conservation Areas. The modern garage block's limited visibility and similar door appearance mean the setting is preserved without adverse effect.
Environment Policy 35
Permits only development in Conservation Areas that preserves or enhances character and protects special features. Replacement judged to preserve character as door is similar in design and colour, with garage not prominent in area views.
