Housing Policy 15
Housing Policy 15 states that extensions or alterations to existing traditionally styled properties in the countryside will normally only be approved where they respect the proportion, form and appearance of the existing property, and only exceptionally if more than 50% of existing floor space. The officer assessed the two-storey pitched roof replacement extension as compliant because it is proportionate to the existing dwelling, uses in-keeping materials, improves aesthetics over the flat roof sunroom, and has no adverse impact on the dwelling or locality due to screening.
