The Alteration and Replacement of Windows Circular 1/98 - Policy 6
Policy requires windows readily visible from public thoroughfare to have the same method of opening, pattern and section of glazing bars, and frame sections as originals if repair impracticable. Officer noted originals were timber sliding sash; new PVC casements differ in opening but replicate glazing bar pattern. This specific matching of glazing, plus improvement over prior non-compliant windows, met the policy test without detrimental impact on Conservation Area character.
Time limit
The development hereby permitted shall commence before the expiration of four years from the date of this notice.
