Planning Report And Recommendations {{table:532730}} Addition of aluminium cladding to exterior of show room - 05/92390/B - Caledonian Toyota, Isle Of Man Business Park, Douglas - APPROVED Erection of signage - 05/92389/D - Caledonian Toyota, Isle Of Man Business Park, Douglas - APPROVED Erection of advertising signage, Oxleys Garage, Isle of Man Business Park - 99/01007/D - APPRVOE Proposal The application seeks approval for the erection of illuminated and non illuminated signage. ## Representations The Authority has received no privately written representations objecting to the application. ### Assessment / recommendation The site currently benefits from a number of advertising signs erected on the building and also erected as pylon signs. Illumination is proposed by internal fluorescent tubes and neon tubing in the case of fascia signs and signs erected on the buildings, with the pylon sign only the badges are internally illuminated. Additionally, to the site it is proposed to erect a total of 5 flags, three to the south of the site and two to the west of the site. Given that the signage represents replacement of existing, the proposal is considered to be acceptable and without detriment to visual amenity. Additionally, the flag poles and flags are a common occurrence outside car show rooms and it is consider given the relative small number of flags in relation to the size of the site, they are also considered acceptable. For these reasons the proposals would be appropriate in these locations. C 1.

a) The development hereby permitted shall be commenced before the expiration of four years from the date of this notice. b) Any advertisements displayed, and any site used for the display of advertisements, shall be maintained in a clean and tidy condition to the reasonable satisfaction of the Department. c) Any structure or hoarding erected or used principally for the purpose of displaying advertisements shall be maintained in a safe condition. d) Where an advertisement is required under these Regulations to be removed, the removal shall be carried out to the reasonable satisfaction of the Department. e) No advertisement is to be displayed without permission of the owner of the site or any other person with an interest in the site entitled to grant permission. f) No advertisement shall be sited or displayed so as to obscure, or hinder the ready interpretation of any traffic sign, railway or tramway signal or aid to navigation by water or air, or so as to render hazardous the use of any highway, railway, tramway, harbour or aerodrome.
