The Site

The application site represents the curtilage of The Police Station, 27 Kerrocruin, Kirk Michael.

Planning Status

The application site is located within an area identified as being Predominantly Residential use by the Kirk Michael Local Plan. The site is not within the Kirk Michael Conservation Area.

Planning History

There are no previous planning applications considered relevant in the assessment and determination of this application.

Representations

The Department of Transport Highways Division does not oppose this application. Michael Commissioners have indicated no objection but comment that they would prefer to see brown PVC rather than white PVC. We have received no privately written representations in relation to this planning application.

The Proposal

This application seeks approval for the installation of replacement windows and doors to the property. The existing windows are aluminium sliding sash finished in brown. The proposed replacement windows would be white PVC casement windows.

Assessment

The proposed windows and doors would be of a similar style to the existing windows. The property is not within a Conservation Area and is a relatively new building. There is a mix of window types within the estate and it is considered that the proposed replacement windows are acceptable.

Recommendation

It is recommended that the application be approved.
