Re: P.A. No: 08/00136/B - Erection of a smoking shelter - Royal George Hotel, Market Square, Ramsey for Heron & Brearley Limited

I am directed to advise that the Commissioners considered the above application at their meeting held on Wednesday 20th February, 2008 and have resolved to Object to the proposal for the following reasons:-

• It is considered that this proposed smoking shelter is in an inappropriate location being at the rear of the public house with poor lighting provision.
• Concern has also been expressed that the location of the shelter may not comply with the provisions of the new Legislation in terms of its location adjacent to public access to the building and immediately adjacent to the cellar access.

I trust that these objections will be brought to the attention of the Planning Committee when considering this application.
